First time since working remotely I’ve worked from the garden… and it’s actually quite enjoyable, just not sure 13” laptop is sufficient for some of my tasks, or I am just too used to dual monitors.

@matthew Do you normally use your laptop “docked” to monitors? I do. I have to admit that tends to make me stay glued to my desk more than I’d like. Partly because of my 13” laptop screen and partly because each time I switch dock/undocked I have to rearrange all the windows.

@ronguest Yeah, I have a hengedock for mine. The other reason I hardly move is I have quite the ergonomic set up, chair, keyboard and sit/stand desk. I used to have trouble with back and wrists

@ronguest @matthew Moom can save and restore window layouts. Makes doing the external monitor dance a lot easier. :)

@Bruce I have a note to look at moom. It appears to have some limitations on moving between Spaces so I’m not sure it would do enough for me.

@matthew In the market for a laptop myself now (for reasons far too boring) and I kinda thought I couldn’t get away with a 13” screen.

@hall The new 15” MacBook pros are not that much bigger than my older 13” MacBook Pro so I am contemplating getting that next, for extra screen size when travelling and more power

@matthew Played on the previous versions of both sizes and found the 15” so much more comfortable to use with GIS software etc. The new machines look good, not sure how much I would use the touch bar thingy though.
